Ms. Etemad-Lehmer’s 3/4 core is once again the top reading class in the school.  For the combined months of Dec/Jan her students read for 46.8 points per capita, thereby winning the coveted Eratosthenes Award for Reading Excellence.

Mr. Martin’s classes are answering some “Essential Questions” on Islam by researching in the library.

Mrs. Elerick’s class is the first winner of the “Erastosthenes Award for Reading Excellence”.  They are the top reading Language Arts class at AJHS with 53.7 points per capita.  They will be eating sweet, sweet donuts in the library, Wednesday at break.
Erastosthenes was the third librarian in Alexandria, and the man who calculated the circumferance of the world.

What is science?  Everything is science!  Mr. James and Mrs. Welles brought their 7th grade science classes in to learn how to find non-fiction books on science in the library.

The “House of Flying Books” was a major undertaking.  Setting up the bookfair, running students through, monitering the merchandise, and getting it all taken down in a weeks time.  We did a fair amount of business, but I’ll admit that a midweek theft situation did take the wind from beneath my wings.
